1960s-1990s

PHASE ONE

Economic Warfare

The Welfare System Broke

the Family Structure

In the 1960s, the government launched what was called "The Great Society"—a series of welfare programs that fundamentally altered the Black family:

  • Marriage Penalty: Married couples lost 20-40% of benefits—the system paid you to stay single
  • Father Removal: Having a man in the home reduced or eliminated assistance—fathers became financial liabilities
  • Economic Dependency: Welfare cliffs made it impossible to escape without losing everything suddenly
  • Generational Cycle: Children raised on welfare became welfare recipients—the trap was designed to perpetuate

RESULT: In 1960, 78% of Black children lived with both parents. By 1990, that number plummeted to 38%.

2000s-2010s

PHASE TWO

Cultural Indoctrination

From Economic Control

to Cultural Control

With the family structure already weakened, a new phase of attack emerged—not just economic incentives, but cultural indoctrination that filled the vacuum left by absent fathers and broken homes:

  • Entertainment Industry: Glorified baby mama culture, normalized fatherlessness, promoted promiscuity
  • Education System: Removed biblical values, taught secular humanism, redefined family
  • Media: Portrayed traditional marriage as oppressive, masculinity as toxic, faith as backwards
  • Hip-Hop Culture: Made it cool to have multiple children by multiple women, to abandon responsibility

RESULT: The culture began teaching what the welfare system had incentivized—that fathers are optional, marriage is outdated, and personal freedom matters more than covenant.

2020s-NOW

PHASE THREE

Ideological Warfare

The Battle for Your

Children's Minds & Souls

Today's generation faces the most sophisticated attack yet—ideological warfare that doesn't just break the family economically or normalize brokenness culturally, but systematically deconstructs God's design at the worldview level:

  • Critical Race Theory: Teaches your child their primary identity is their race (victimhood or oppressor), not Christ
  • Gender Ideology: Tells your daughter she can be a boy, attacks God's design for male and female
  • Cultural Marxism: Redefines family, authority, truth, and morality—everything is "oppression" except rebellion

The Weapons of Ideological Warfare

Critical Race Theory

What it teaches: Your primary identity is your race. You're either oppressed (victim) or oppressor. Everything is about power and systemic racism.

Why it's deadly: It replaces identity in Christ with racial identity. It teaches your child to see themselves as permanent victims or guilty oppressors rather than image-bearers of God.

Gender Ideology

What it teaches: Gender is fluid, not biological. Your daughter can be a boy. Your son can be a girl. Parents who disagree are bigots.

Why it's deadly: It attacks God's design for male and female at the foundation. It confuses children about their very identity and teaches rebellion against God's creation order.

Cultural Marxism

What it teaches: All traditional structures (family, church, authority) are oppressive. Liberation comes through overthrowing norms. Truth is relative.

Why it's deadly: It teaches your children to reject biblical authority, view family as oppression, and believe rebellion is virtue. It's atheistic communism dressed in social justice language.

Social Media Warfare

What it teaches: Worldviews, values, and identities formed through TikTok, Instagram, YouTube—all outside parental oversight, 24/7 discipleship by algorithms.

Why it's deadly: You get your child 2 hours a day. Social media gets them 6-8 hours. Whoever disciples them the most, wins their worldview. And right now, you're losing.

Gender Ideology

What it teaches: Churches affirming LGBTQ lifestyles, preaching social justice over gospel, refusing to address sin, prioritizing culture over Scripture.

Why it's deadly: When the church capitulates to culture, families lose their last line of defense. If the pulpit won't preach truth, where will your children hear it?

Policy Can't Fix a Worldview Problem

You can elect conservative politicians, but if your child spends 8 hours a day being discipled by a Marxist education system and 6 hours on social media absorbing anti-biblical worldviews, the policy change won't matter. The battle isn't just in Congress—it's in your child's mind and heart.

Policy Can't Rebuild What Culture Destroys

Even if we repealed every welfare program tomorrow, you still have generations raised to believe fathers are optional, marriage is oppressive, and personal freedom trumps covenant. Policy can remove incentives, but it can't restore values. That requires spiritual transformation.

Policy Can't Win a Spiritual War

The Apostle Paul told us: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12). This is spiritual warfare disguised as political and cultural battles. You can't defeat a spiritual enemy with political weapons.

The Uncomfortable Truth

We need policy reform, yes. We need to vote biblically, yes. We need to fight school boards, yes. But without SPIRITUAL REFORMATION and the restoration of God's design for family, we're rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. The family is the foundational institution—and if it's not rebuilt on biblical truth, no amount of political activism will save us.

Biblical Worldview Formation

Your children must be taught to see EVERYTHING through Scripture—not through culture, not through emotion, not through experience. God's Word is the lens for interpreting reality, identity, morality, and purpose.

Marriage as Counterculture

Covenant marriage—lifelong, faithful, biblically ordered—is an act of spiritual rebellion against the culture. Your marriage isn't just about love, it's about DEMONSTRATING God's design in a world that calls it oppressive.

Fatherhood as Discipleship

Fathers, you are the primary spiritual leader and discipler of your children. Not the school, not the church, not social media—YOU. If you abdicate this role, the culture will fill the vacuum with lies.

Family as Primary Institution

God designed the family BEFORE He designed government, before He designed schools, before He designed anything else. The family is the foundational institution—and when it's strong, everything else follows.

Spiritual Warfare Engagement

Prayer, fasting, Scripture memorization, worship—these are your weapons. This is spiritual warfare, and you can't fight it with natural weapons. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Community of Accountability

You can't do this alone. Surround yourself with families committed to the same biblical values, the same spiritual warfare, the same refusal to compromise. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

Practical steps to protect your family and fight the cultural battlefield

STEP 1

Audit What's Discipling Your Children

Question to ask: Who is spending the most time forming my child's worldview?

  • How many hours per day on social media? (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube)
  • What are they being taught in school? (Request curriculum, attend school board meetings)
  • What entertainment are they consuming? (Music, movies, TV shows)
  • Who are their friends and what values do they hold?
  • Is church reinforcing biblical truth or compromising with culture?

STEP 2

Take Back Authority in Your Home

Fathers, this is your responsibility: You are the spiritual leader and primary discipler.

  • Daily family devotions—even 10 minutes of Scripture and prayer
  • Teach biblical worldview explicitly (identity in Christ, God's design for gender, truth about marriage)
  • Set boundaries on social media, entertainment, and peer influence
  • Model covenant marriage—let your children see faithfulness in action
  • Be present, engaged, and involved (not passive or absent)

STEP 3

Fight the School Board Battle

This is where CRT and gender ideology infiltrate: Your local school board.

  • Attend school board meetings and speak up
  • Request copies of curriculum (especially social studies, health, SEL programs)
  • Vote for school board members who uphold parental rights and biblical values
  • Consider Christian school, homeschool, or homeschool co-ops if public school is irredeemable
  • Connect with other parents fighting the same battle

STEP 4

Engage in Spiritual Warfare

This is spiritual warfare—fight with spiritual weapons:

  • Pray over your children daily—by name, specifically
  • Fast for breakthrough in your family
  • Speak Scripture over your home (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
  • Worship together as a family
  • Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)
