There is a war for the soul of the American family, and the opening salvos have already been fired.
At CFADD, we call the crisis what it is: the Great Family Deconstruction — a relentless cultural, spiritual, and ideological assault designed to redefine, diminish, and ultimately dismantle the God-ordained family unit. It has advanced through courtrooms and classrooms, through media narratives and social algorithms, through policies that penalize marriage and programs that parent in place of parents. And it has succeeded — not because it was strong, but because the Church was silent. That silence ends now.
CFADD is leading a movement we call the Great Family Reconstruction — a deliberate, Scripture-grounded, community-powered effort to rebuild what has been torn down and restore what has been stolen. We are not reacting. We are rebuilding. Rebuilding the Family, Restoring the Nation.
But make no mistake: reconstruction invites opposition. Nehemiah discovered this when he set out to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. The moment the first stones were laid, Sanballat and Tobiah arrived with mockery, threats, and schemes (Nehemiah 4:1–3). The pattern has not changed. The moment you begin to rebuild something the enemy has worked to destroy, resistance is guaranteed.
We want you ready.
Here is what 30 years of cultural engagement has taught us: the opposition does not innovate — it recycles. The same rhetorical weapons used to silence the Church on every moral issue for the last three decades will be deployed against the Great Family Reconstruction. They are predictable. They are powerful. And they are coming.
We have identified five specific lies that will be aimed at this movement — five attacks designed to discredit, discourage, and divide the people of God before the Reconstruction gains unstoppable momentum.
They are:
"You're just imposing your values."
"The family has always evolved — get with the times."
"This is about hate, not love."
"Science has disproven traditional family norms."
"Churches don't understand modern families."
You will hear them from commentators and colleagues. You will see them in op-eds and social media threads. You will feel them in the silence of friends who quietly withdraw their support. And if you are not prepared, they will work — not because they are true, but because they are designed to make you feel wrong for standing on what is right.
We are naming these lies in advance for one reason: a lie loses half its power the moment you see it coming.
The Apostle Paul warned the Corinthian church to be vigilant "so that we would not be outwitted by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his designs" (2 Corinthians 2:11). Foreknowledge is a weapon. Discernment is armor. And this campaign is your armory.
Over the next three posts, we will break down each of these five lies in detail. We will show you the tactics behind them, the theology that dismantles them, and the practical language you can use when they are thrown at you — in your workplace, at your Thanksgiving table, or in your child's school board meeting.
The Great Family Deconstruction did not ask permission. It did not announce itself. It crept in while the Church slept.
The Great Family Reconstruction will be different. It will be loud. It will be unapologetic. And it will be built by families like yours who refuse to surrender one more inch of ground.
Don't say we didn't warn you. Say you were ready.
