Christian Families Against Destructive Decisions (CFADD) is now offering Christian counseling services to help individuals and families address life challenges. Studies have shown that participating in Christian counseling improves the mental and physical outcomes. This counseling program offers support on issues such as relationship struggles, family dynamics, mental health, and personal growth, that will promote healing spiritually and within relationships with your family. CFADD is partnering with local organizations in Spartanburg County to make these services accessible for those seeking faith-centered guidance coupled with the care of his/her primary provider.

BENEFITS OF CHRISTIAN COUNSELING

Recent studies are proving the benefit of spiritual care being coupled with medical care for improved outcomes:

Increased Ability to Cope with Depression and Anxiety: A 2020 study published in the Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health found that patients who engaged in spiritual counseling exhibited significantly lower levels of depression and anxiety compared to those receiving traditional therapy alone. Around 65% of participants reported improved coping mechanisms after spiritual interventions were included in their treatment plans.

Enhanced Substance Abuse Recovery: Research published in Substance Use & Misuse in 2019 showed that spiritual counseling integrated into substance abuse treatment programs increased the likelihood of long-term recovery. Patients receiving spiritual care alongside traditional treatment programs were 45% more likely to maintain sobriety over 12 months.

Reduction in PTSD Symptoms: A 2022 study highlighted in the Journal of Traumatic Stress reported that veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who received spiritual counseling experienced a 30% reduction in PTSD-related symptoms over a 6-month period.

Reduction in Stress and Anxiety Among Pregnant Women: A 2019 study in the Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics & Gynecology found that pregnant women receiving spiritual counseling showed a 20% reduction in stress levels compared to those who did not receive spiritual care during their pregnancy.
