Supt. Ronald D. Gates, Sr. is a powerful and passionate preacher of the Gospel. He has been saved and serving the Lord for over 25 years and has been in pastoral ministry for nearly 17 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education from Calvary Theological Seminary and a Doctorate in Christian Ministry. He serves as:

• Second-Administrative Assistant to Bishop Patrick L. Wooden, Sr. of the NC Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction
• District Superintendent of the Mountain-Metropolitan District
• Senior Pastor of Greater Works COGIC

He has been joyfully married to Evangelist Shelly Gates for over 23 years, who co-founded Greater Works COGIC with him in 2007. He is the father of two sons – Ronnie and Ryan Gates and of one daughter Jurnie Bowers with many other godchildren. Supt. Gates is a leader in his community. He is the Chairman of the Eagles Wings Community Development Corporation Supt. Gates is a Navy veteran, published author and an addiction recovery coach.
