In World News “Self Reigns”
Self is found at the root of every ill in our culture including feminism, materialism, gender ideology, abortion and lust. All of which have negatively impacted the family. This pleases the enemy of our souls, as he hates anything that God loves. The target of the enemy is the children, the next generation. Mothers who prioritize their happiness, desires, and dreams above their children, have left the door wide open for the enemy to come in and wreak havoc.
Our daughters are following our example even as we model for them how to put everything ahead of God’s calling for them. We are working, neglecting our families and leaving our children to themselves. Encourage your children to prioritize God’s design. As we see the destruction of the family, as nurturers let’s turn back the tide.
In Kingdom News “Selfless Love”
God’s design for motherhood requires the putting away of self and prioritizing your children. For a mother, there is no higher calling than the successful raising of Godly seed. This is priority number one, and whatever is required to do that is expected by God. Moms cannot be individualistic, we must see beyond our wants, pleasures, and desires. Through prayer and submission to God’s Word, He can align our desires with His, and we can find joy and fulfillment in operating in our roles. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13
Proverbs 29:15 – The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. It is no accident that Scripture uses “mother” instead of “father” or “parent” in this verse. As nurturers, teachers, and disciplinarians, our children require our time and attention. The word “left” comes from the Hebrew word shalach which means to send away, let go or let loose. Have we outsourced our roles? Are television, teachers, social media, video games, peers, and celebrities influencing and training our children more than we are? Are we too busy to fulfill our roles properly? Have we set ourselves up to be brought to shame? Maybe not in society’s eyes, but it’s God’s eyes that should hold our concern.
TheMOMeter (The MOM Meter)
Let’s take the “temperature” of society’s children. If we measure how they are doing without present mothers, we will find much of that shame scripture speaks of. Since mothers have resisted making the care of their children their primary occupation (largely since World Ward II) there has been a rapid decline in the well-being of children.
Statistics show us that there has been an increase in….
– anxiety and mental illness
– childhood suicide
– sexual abuse and molestation
– drug, tobacco and alcohol usage
– uninterrupted access to violence and pornography
– injury
– sexual activity
– gender dysphoria
– poor academic performance
When moms are not present and attentive it leaves time and opportunity for our enemy to work. Could it be time to reject what seems normal in our society and return to God’s design? Or has the “almighty dollar” trumped our Almighty God? All valid questions for every concerned mother to answer in the context of her own home and family.
